How does Invisalign work?

Using a series of invisible, custom made aligners, the Invisalign system gradually moves your teeth into place over the course of treatment. These aligners are designed using 3-D imagining technology and each aligner is completely unique to you. Invisalign removal One aligner will be worn for about 1-2 weeks before moving on to the next, with each aligner moving your teeth a little bit closer to the desired position. Visits to our office are less frequent when using the Invisalign system—you will typically be given three to eight aligners per visit and will only need to visit approximately every six weeks.

Invisalign is invisible, so the only person who needs to know you are improving your smile is you. Unlike many traditional methods of treatment, there is no impact on speech and you do not need to relearn how to complete basic tasks such as eating, brushing, and flossing. It is the least fussy and most aesthetically pleasing treatment available.

Why should I choose Invisalign?

AlignerHandThe biggest reason patients request Invisalign treatment is that it is invisible. Patients do not want to drastically change their appearance just to correct some irregularities in their smile. However, that is not the only benefit. As the aligners are removable, patients do not need to change their diet or learn a new way to brush and floss. Since there are no metal elements, the aligners do not cause mouth abrasions. They are also safer than traditional braces when playing sports.

How long does treatment last with Invisalign?

The length of your treatment can be estimated at the initial consultation. It varies from patient to patient as your needs are as individual as you. In fact, treatment can take as little as six months or as many as thirty-six, depending on the variables at play, so it is best not to have a timeline in mind until after we see you.

Make A Better Smile A Reality For Your TeenOrthodontic specialists and General Dentists are not created equally. Your general dentist may have taken some additional weekend training seminars and offer invisalign orthodontics, but they are not allowed to call themselves Orthodontists. The two years of additional training prepares the Orthodontist to handle any situation, which earns the additional title of “Orthodontist.” A weekend course does not provide the same qualifications and training as a two year accredited specialty training program. So dentists offer Invisalign orthodontics, but are not orthodontists. Ask your dentists questions about their qualifications and training to offer Invisalign.
