Courtney Ray, DMD, MSD
Dr. Courtney Ray was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. She majored in Biologic Sciences and graduated with honors from University of California, Davis. In 2010, Dr. Ray graduated from Harvard earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from dental school at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time at Harvard she participated in some research projects and was very involved with the Orthodontic Department.
She moved back to California for her orthodontic residency at University of the Pacific (UOP) School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Since, Dr. Alpan was trained at the same program and finished in 1998 the philosophies of treatment are similar. During her residency, Dr. Ray did research on cleft lip and palate genetics and participated as a dental and orthodontic specialist on a cleft lip and palate medical mission trip to Udaipur, India.
In addition, Dr. Ray received advanced training in many types of orthodontic treatment. She is experienced with traditional braces, self-ligating braces, Invisalign and lingual braces. She was awarded first place in the Invisalign University Challenge for the best multi-disciplinary case. After earning this prestigious award, she was invited to present her treatment outcomes at the 2012 Invisalign Orthodontic Summit in Las Vegas.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Ray received a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree for her masters’ thesis. Dr. Ray enjoys practicing orthodontics and providing patients with the best possible orthodontic care, in a fun friendly environment. In her free time, Dr. Ray loves traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys doing anything active; running, skiing, hiking, biking and spending time with her boyfriend, Mike.
